Default Dahrla - shadow priest extraordinaire (or something)

1) Your name and age

Amy, just turned old (30)

2) Your Main character's Name - Class - MainSpec - Offspec

Dahrla, Space Goat Priest, Shadow/Holy (at the moment)

I am on US - Silvermoon and would need to server transfer in order to raid with your guild. My current offspec is holy, but I have a very good (better than the holy) discipline set and am willing to change if necessary - my current guild had a discipline priest that started coming to raids more often, and both us in the same 10 man ("you can't do that yet") made me insane enough to make the switch to failangel spec.

Please include an armory link to your main spec. Remember, whenever you log out of WoW, to log out in the gear/spec that you would be raiding with.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...moon&cn=Dahrla

3) Post your availability; can you meet our raid times?

I have no life, so I am online almost every evening. I can make your raid times - once in a blue moon, my employer will send me out of town and I'd be gone for up to a week or so - I'll know plenty of time ahead and will be able to let you know. But this is very rare - I'm thinking I went out of town once last year.

4) Computer/system questions
a) Do you have a working mic?
I do. Target $15 headset ftw.
b) Do you have ventrilo? Yes.
c) Do you have any known computer or connection issues that would hamper your raiding ability? Not at the moment or lately - just switched from Crapcast to AT&T and have had zero problems since then.

5) UI, addons, etc.
a) What addons do you run?

DBM, Skada (built in Omen), Grid, Decursive, ForteXorcist, and some (a lot of) others. I currently have 62 addons installed, though not all are for my priest (I have PallyPower, for instance).

b) Can you provide us with any WWS (or similar site) information that would reflect your numbers/capabilities.

Yes, here we go. http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/9qzt3isgm4degrl4/sum/damageDone/?s=5154&e=5444 (recent Saurfang 25)

I won't pretend that that's the norm, though - I recently got the fourth tier piece, and it's super great - big dps boost. One of my faults as a shadow priest before grabbing the tier 10 set was that I failed to cast Mind Blast every cooldown. With the fourth piece of tier, and the set bonus, and the stats I currently have on my gear plus 25 man raid buffs, I can drop Mind Blast altogether. My fail turned into a win! In 10 man, however, I do still have to cast Mind Blast as my stats are not quite where they should be to warrant dropping it. I did (and still do) experiment with both often to make sure I'm getting the most out of my gear, my tier sets, and my attack sequence.

c) Please post a SS of your UI. Please post a pic, not just a link, we hate links. Also be sure to take the SS while you are in a raid. Queue up for AV if you can't get a UI shot from a raid.

6) Raiding and Guild Experience

Please tell us about your raiding experience. We are primarily concerned with WotlK content/experience, but welcome stories about good ole vanilla WoW. Also, let us know of any previous or recent guilds you were (or still are) a part of.

I'm a Wrath baby - got to 70 right before WotLK hit, so I was not really a raider until Wrath anyway. In Wrath, I've cleared everything pre-Ulduar, beat General Vezax in 10 and 25 (a lot of the hard modes on 10, not so much 25), full cleared ToC 25, ToC 10, and ToGC 10, and I've been working with my current guild on Festergut 25 and Putricide 10.

7) Acknowledgment

Please acknowledge that you have read and understand everything under the General Guild Information on the top of the the recruitment format thread.

I have read it and understand everything.

8) Personal and other Info

Please feel free to post your other hobbies besides wow, tell us about yourself. Any friends/references you have within our guild?

Other hobbies besides WoW ... hmm. I am a huge nerd - I like fantasy books and movies, I play some console games when time permits. I do keep up with a lot of WoW blogs - it's good and helpful to get insight into how other players in other guilds do certain boss fights as well as player insight into how to play classes and tips and tricks for higher dps, etc. I have four 80's - besides my priest, I have an enhancement/resto shaman, a bear/moonkin druid, and a ret/prot paladin. I also have three other toons over level 40 (lock, rogue, mage).

Oh, and being on another server, I unfortunately do not know anyone in your guild.

9) Silly stuff - ahh your chance to make us laugh

The funnier the better. Stupid joke, one-liner, funny picture, anything. Give us some insight to your sense of humor!

Oh no! I fail! I'm not funny at all. I do seem to draw a lot of laughs, but I don't think it's because I'm a comedic genius. Whenever I ride around in my car, people laugh at me. Not the same thing, huh? Here's me in my car (I posted this on my current guild forums, and they make fun of me for it all the time.)

The color of the car brings out my eyes, don't you think?

lol that pic is even titled "me". Is that really you, or did you figure ppl would check properties to see where the pic was from? I'M ON TO YOU

On topic - I'm sure Plantain will go over your logs with a fine toothed comb, and sadly I'm not the one that makes decisions, but considering you are a priest AND you're on a different realm, it'd be hard to actually judge your performance as heals if we needed a healer as you currently have no logs of it. Your death rate seems low and your dps seems ok, I just don't know how aching we are for a shadow priest over a healing priest.

It's not really me. :-)

And no problem, I couldn't find a "this is what we are recruiting" message anywhere (probably just missed it) and thought I'd give it a whirl - I'm definitely only looking for a guild that needs a main spec shadow priest, and I don't have any healing logs.

Thanks for looking, though - I'll keep checking back but I'll continue to look elsewhere for a new home.

Why do you want to leave your current server? How did you find us? Why do you want to leave your current guild on Silvermoon?

None of Pio's toons are in the guild long enough to gain medical or dental, so do not listen to him.

I know it's your off spec, but are you aware that the renew glyph does not gain full benefit from empowered renew and will actually weaken the instant part of said talent?

You would be better off with either poh glyph for heavy raid healing fights or guardian spirit for the added benefit of insurance during tank swaps, phase changes and/or heavy raid movement (movement makes holy paladins sad)

Silly me, thought this was closed - good thing I checked back!

I'm leaving my guild because on the four given raid nights, we maybe raid one or two nights a week (first night after raid resets, when we knock out the "farm" content). It's been like this for a long time, which I expect is how it is for most "middle of the road" guilds - people want to see new content and get loot, but don't bother to put anything into progression fights if there's no incentive.

I want to see new content as a shadow priest. Most of the guilds on Silvermoon are either looking for healing priests, are in the same boat we are, or are filled with asshats (from personal experience). Guess that comes with being on the same server for my entire WoW life. :-) I've always been interested in trying a PvP server (though I'm terribad at PvP) and none of the guilds on Silvermoon offered the perfect combination of 1. needing a main spec shadow priest, 2. raiding at times I wanted to raid (not too much or too little), and 3. being at the level of progression I wanted to be at. I will most likely leave all of my non-80 alts on Silvermoon for downtimes - I do have many friends on that server and would not be able to bring myself to cut ties completely.

On a side note, I would more than likely transfer my other 80's over - geared enh/resto shaman, ICC 10-geared feral tank/boomkin druid, and a mediocre-geared (emblem farming ftw) ret/prot pally. I hate having to buy epic gems and flasks - would much rather make them myself.

As for the holy glyph comment, I admittedly followed a cookie-cutter spec/glyph guide from somewhere (probably a holy priest blog). I do move around a lot and figured it'd be best, but no, I have not given much thought to the holy spec and glyph choices beyond that. I do carry a stack of PoH glyphs with me, as a plus side, for the heal-intensive fights, and the Renew glyph is the exact glyph I replace. For the most part, though, my healing is relegated to heroics and the occasional VoA 10. I'm pretty sure I have not healed as holy in ICC 10 yet - I did for a while as discipline when I was specced that way, but we suddenly got enough healers to where I was able to go shadow for the 10 mans. I'm certainly open to advice for both my healing spec as well as shadow - I'm definitely not an expert.

I'm off to work, but when I get home tonight I'll check back here - if there's the possibility of getting in as a shadow priest I'm definitely interested, but I'm admittedly not enthusiastic about moving anywhere that would put me only as a "backup dps" and main spec healer (the other way around would be perfectly fine, though). I enjoy shadow - there have been periods where I would main spec heal for a while "for the good of the guild", and those times are when I saw the most burnout.

Just wanted to drop a line and say thank you, again, for checking out my application - I found another guild that suited my needs and will no longer be "on the market," so to speak. Best of luck in ICC! :-)
